Prof. Kausik Ray

Short narrative biography

Kausik Kumar Ray is currently Professor of Public Heath, Deputy Director of Imperial Clinical Trials Unit and Head of Commercial Trials within the Department of Public Health and Primary Care, School of Public Health, Imperial College London and Consultant Cardiologist. He is President Elect of the European Atherosclerosis Society, National lead for CVD for the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network, Clinical Director for the DISCOVER NOW, which is a Health Data Research UK Digital Innovation Hub.

Professor Ray leads the EAS FH Studies collaboration which is the first global registry of FH and includes 70 countries and > 62 000 cases, as well as being the Senior PI for the TOGETHER study looking at cardiometabolic risk in the vascular health checks in 250,000 people in London.

Professor Ray’s research interests have focused on the prevention of coronary disease in particular lipids, diabetes, biomarkers and risk prediction. He has an H index of 79, an i10 index of 184 and over 76,000 citations for his work including major guidelines and FDA and EMEA approvals.

In 2018, 2019 Clarivate Analytics recorded that he was among the top 1% of authors cited globally in Clinical Medicine.
