Research
Professor Jean Charles Fruchart scientific interest was initially focused on clinical biochemistry of lipoproteins, but progressively shifted towards lipoprotein metabolism and atherosclerosis. Recently, his group is involved in the study of the transcription factors regulating the metabolism of lipoproteins and discovered the molecular mechanism of action of fibrates through activation of PPAR-alpha.
